The Chico Velo Wildflower Century is an excellent ride for exploring Butte County. With seven different route options, the longest being 125 miles, riders will have an opportunity to ride through eight different towns through a very scenic Butte County in springtime. If you are traveling to participate in the Wildflower Century, we encourage you to explore the area and enjoy all of the beauty the area has to offer. Downtown Chico
Chico has a thriving downtown with plenty of food options, unique stores, and local beverage establishments to check out. Downtown Chico is only a few miles from the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, perfect for a quick ride to get a bite to eat and a drink! Be sure to lock your bicycle up. Chico is a beautiful area, but unfortunately we are not immune to bike theft. More information on Downtown Chico here.
Table Mountain Wildflowers
Will you be driving into Chico from the South on 99 or 70? Check out Table Mountain! The Wildflowers will be in full bloom and beautiful. Get your legs ready for the ride and enjoy an easy hike around Table Mountain Ecological Reserve. More information about Table Mountain here.
Explore Bidwell Park
Chico has one of the largest city parks in the United States and springtime is a great time to explore the park. Stroll through Lower Bidwell Park or go for a hike/mountain bike ride in Upper Bidwell Park. Trails are open year round to hiking, but if you are considering mountain biking in the Park, make sure to check that the trails are open before you head out on your adventure.
